Simple, but good

You kept things very simple, which I thought to be quite good. It was an easy premise, and you managed to pull it off rather well.

The only thing I would recommend adding would be to add some music, or sound effects to the game. Even improving the graphics wouldn't hurt a but.

As far as the graphics in general, they were fine. It was basic, but all the bits of animation that you used were quite smooth. You might want to work on your collision detection a bit more, but you definitely seem to be on the right track.

Very decent quality for your first submission.

Wow I didnt expect a review this fast. Thank you for your advice.

Metroid-esqe

The game certainly had a very Metroid feel, to it. There were a number of times that I was having flashbacks to Super Metroid on the SNES.

Overall, it was a very decent game. After a while, it lost my interest, though I found myself playing it for nearly an hour before I go to that point.

Good job, overall, on the gameplay, feel, and overall look of the game. I'm very impressed.

A first...

I don't normally review games that are still under judgment, but this was pretty impressive.

While I've played a few different games with essentially the same concept is this one, I enjoyed this one more than quite a few. The music that's going on fit the atmosphere of the game quite well, and didn't really get annoying until about 20 or so minutes of constant play.

The game does have a little bit of an addicting side, despite the very simply concept.

I especially enjoyed the graphics that you used for this game. Very simple, but still very good.

The last thing I want to touch on is the game play. You did a good job getting the physics just right, and adding just the right level of difficulty.

Congratulations for making a fine game for your introduction to the world of Newgrounds. I'm looking forward to your future game submissions.

Just as fun...

...as the first game. I had a lot of fun with this one, and it took me back to the first game again, which I enjoyed just as much.

haha, awesome, i guess that means we should get started on 3 then! :P

Great Game

This is one of those few games that really does exactly what it was intended to do. Entertain the player.

There are far too many game developers out there, and on this sight as well, that want to focus on making the graphics as high end as they possibly can. Or they try and invent and entirely new play style and end up making a giant mess out of the whole thing. Graphics aren't a bad thing, by any stretch; but they shouldn't be the most important either.

The graphics for this game fit perfectly for the game that it is. It my not be the most amazing game graphically, but from how smooth the animation is, to the artistic value in it, it blows other games out of the water.

The game play is very simple. It's not weighed down with a thousand different variables and too many commands to keep in order. You run, you jump... simple as that.

While I agree with a lot of other posters that a bit more story would have been nice, I can't fault you for this. This game almost reminds me of a Team Ico project. We're given enough of a story and emphasis on the idea that the character is being chased. He's trying to escape, and is clearly willing to go to any length to do that. But we aren't told what, or why; this allows us to imagine in our own minds why he is fleeing.

One of the best games on Newgrounds by far. Keep up the good work.

Good Game

I liked the concept of the game, and even enjoyed the game for quite a number of levels. I didn't end up getting all the way through it, simply because I found myself a little bored after just a few levels.

For someone who enjoys puzzle games, a bit more than myself, may find this game much more interesting.

Good job!

Wonderfully hard...

This game was one of the harder flash games I've played in a while, but I loved every second of it. Wonderful job on this game, I can't think of anything that would improve on this concept, everything was executed flawlessly, which is very rare.

Amazing

That's really the only word that I can use to describe it properly, and I fear that may fall a bit short.

I enjoyed the overall concept of the game, especially since it all seemed just a giant joke directed towards those who rate games for the dumbest reasons possible. The game was actually really fun, honestly. I've always been a fan of that style shooter, which could explain my strange obsession with Galiga to this day.

You did a great job with the game design, and the concept was actually very unique, a very rare thing these days.

P.S.
I think my favorite part was the "good ending." I got a good chuckle out of that!

I enjoyed it

I've always been a fan of RPGs, and an even bigger fan of Megaman.

For the small project that this was, I enjoyed it. It seems more of like a test more than anything. Which is something I'm convinced a few people just can seem to understand. This isn't intended to be a finished project.

But for something that was a demo, more or less, I thought the system worked well, and I just like the entire concept in general. I think you could take this far if you wanted to put the time into it, maybe even give it a more in depth storyline, based off of one of the Megaman games (or even an entirely original storyline).
